Billing questions
How does the free trial work?
Premium and Pro include a 7-day free trial when you subscribe on the website for the first time. You enter a card to start, and nothing is charged during the trial. The trial is one per person, across the website and the apps. If you have had a HobbyMonitor subscription or trial before, you pay from the first day, and we show that on the button before you continue.
When will I be charged?
With a trial, your card is charged when the trial ends, 7 days after you start. The charge date is shown under the button and on the checkout page. After that, your plan renews every year on the same date until you cancel. Prices are in US dollars.
How do I cancel?
- Website: Profile > Manage Subscription, then cancel. You keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
- iPhone or iPad: Settings > your name > Subscriptions > HobbyMonitor.
- Android: Google Play > your profile > Payments and subscriptions > Subscriptions > HobbyMonitor.
Can I get a refund?
On the website, you can cancel anytime and keep access through the end of the period you paid for. We do not give partial refunds, except where the law requires it. Purchases made in the App Store or Google Play are refunded by Apple or Google under their own policies.
What are Card Scans and Research Credits?
Card Scans are used only by the scan modes: price, grade, and add scans. A price scan uses one Card Scan and no Research Credit. Research Credits pay for all other price research: the automatic price when you add a card (including cards from a bulk import), Research Price or Check Price, refreshing a card value, bulk price checks, and typed price searches (typing a card's details on the price scan screen instead of taking a photo).
Each month, a few searches that find no value do not use up a credit (3 on Free, 25 on Premium, 50 on Pro, counted separately for each). After that, a search uses a credit even when no value is found. Both reset each month.
Does my plan work in the apps?
Yes. One account works on the website, in the iPhone and Android apps, and in Collect. If you subscribed in an app, sign in here with the same account and your plan is already active.
How do I switch plans or billing period?
If you subscribed on the website, open Profile > Manage Subscription. If you subscribed in an app, switch in the App Store or Google Play.
Why is the price a little different in the app?
Apple and Google set prices in their stores, so app prices can differ slightly from the website. The store shows the exact price before you buy.
