2026 Topps Allen & Ginter Baseball: The Complete Odds, Parallel, and Print Run Breakdown

2026 Topps Allen & Ginter Baseball: The Complete Odds, Parallel, and Print Run Breakdown

2026 Topps Allen & Ginter Baseball releases on October 7, and Topps posted the full odds sheet on September 29. The sheet covers three formats: Hobby boxes, Value boxes and Fat Packs. It prints odds for nearly every card line in each format that carries it, and that is enough to work out how many packs of each format Topps planned, where the numbered parallels went, and roughly how many copies exist of the cards that carry no serial number at all.

The short version: about 168,500 Hobby boxes, more than half a million Value boxes, and a numbered rainbow that has moved heavily toward retail since last year.

The checklist

The base set is 300 cards, and this year there are no short-printed base cards. As always, it mixes ballplayers with subjects from everywhere else: actors, musicians, comedians, broadcasters, reality TV stars and athletes from other sports.

Around the base set sit the usual Allen & Ginter layers:

  • Minis. Every base card has a mini version, with A&G Back, Black Border, Gold Border, No Number, Brooklyn Back, Wood, Glossy and printing plate versions, plus Metal and Stained Glass minis on 150 of the subjects.
  • Chrome Variations. 100 base subjects get a full-size Chrome version and 100 get a Chrome mini (96 subjects have both), each with its own refractor ladder.
  • Foil Filagree and Silver Portrait. The full-size base card's parallel ladder, from unnumbered Foil Filagree down to Purple Foil Filagree and Glossy one of ones.
  • Inserts. 50 Ways to Say Hello, Musical Methods, Wicked Power, N34, N43, Rookie Design Variations, Career 250, Uniform Countdown, Tin Type and Daguerreotype variations.
  • Hits. Mini autographs of baseball and non-baseball subjects, full-size autographs, Carte de Visite autographs, relics in mini and full size, autograph relics, Dynasty autographed patches, cut signatures, and Rip Cards and Double Rip Cards, which you can tear open to find a mini inside.

The headline autographs this year include two band cards, Linkin Park and The Maine, a Dynasty patch run for Miley Cyrus, Tony Hawk and Seth Meyers, and full-size autographs of Barry Bonds, Kirk Gibson and Reggie Jackson.

Three ways to buy it

  • Hobby box: 18 packs of 8 cards, with 2 hits per box (an autograph, relic, printing plate or Rip Card).
  • Value box: 8 packs of 6 cards.
  • Fat Pack: a single 14-card pack.

Hobby boxes are smaller this year. Last year's Hobby box held 24 packs; this year's holds 18, with the same two hits.

How much Allen & Ginter exists

FormatPacksBoxesCases
Hobby3,033,504168,52814,044 (12 boxes each)
Value Box4,111,040513,880not published
Fat Pack817,344single packsnot published
Total7,961,888 packs

That is about 60.4 million cards in all. By card count, Hobby and Value each hold about 40 percent of the product and Fat Packs about 19 percent. There are roughly three Value boxes for every Hobby box.

These are not rough guesses. Each is the one pack count the sheet's rare odds lines agree on, as the next section explains. Topps notes that the sheet reflects the intended configuration and that actual contents may vary.

How the odds give it away

Topps writes odds as packs divided by copies. For a card that exists in a small, whole number of copies, the pack count has to divide out cleanly. That makes the rare lines on the sheet work like a lock: setting aside exact multiples, which are ruled out below, only one pack count opens nearly all of them at once.

Take the Dynasty Autographed Patch Gold, nine cards, one of one each. In Hobby the odds are 1:505,584. Multiply by 6 and you get 3,033,504. The Relic Cut Signatures, 11 one of ones, fall 1:379,188 in Hobby: multiply by 8 and you land on the same 3,033,504. The Dual Autograph Relic Purple one of ones are 1:168,528, and 168,528 times 18 is 3,033,504 again. Forty of the 44 rare Hobby lines (odds of 1:5,000 or longer) reproduce that number.

The same check works for the other two formats. In Value boxes, the Dynasty Gold line is 1:2,055,520, and two copies gives 4,111,040. In Fat Packs, the Tin Type line is 1:4,644, and 176 copies gives 817,344.

Doubling any of these totals breaks something. Twice the Hobby count would put 12 Dynasty Gold one of ones in Hobby boxes, but only nine exist. Twice the Fat Pack count would mean 327 Purple Foil Filagree one of ones from a 300-card set. So the counts are exact, not floors. The configuration agrees: 3,033,504 packs divide into exactly 168,528 boxes of 18, which divide into exactly 14,044 cases of 12.

One caution for anyone running these numbers on other products: the rarest odds on a sheet do not always mean one copy. Here the rarest Value line, 1:2,055,520, is two copies, and the rarest Hobby line is six.

Where the rainbow went

The rainbow is the ladder of colored, serial-numbered parallels, from /150 down to one of one. Every numbered base parallel is seeded at the same rate per card in all three formats. Hobby packs hold 8 cards, Fat Packs 14 and Value packs 6, and the odds follow that ratio almost exactly. In practice that means Hobby gets no special share of the numbered cards. It gets about the same share as its share of the cards.

Here is the full-size base ladder with the copies that land in each format:

The one of one counts come out exact on the sheet's numbers; the others are rounded estimates. Of the 300 Purple Foil Filagree one of ones, 111 are in Hobby boxes, 114 in Value boxes and 51 in Fat Packs. Hobby holds about 37 percent of each numbered run.

Last year that figure was about 71 percent. You can see the change in the odds themselves. In 2025 the Gold Foil Filagree /50 fell 1:263 Hobby packs and 1:1,707 Value packs, so a Value pack was about six and a half times less likely to have one. This year it is 1:543 in Hobby and 1:724 in Value, which is the same rate per card. Odds are per pack, so the smaller box has nothing to do with it. There are 8 percent more Hobby packs, but most of the change is the split: the numbered rainbow now sits mostly in Value boxes and Fat Packs.

The three formats on the sheet also hold only about 92 to 93 percent of every numbered base, mini and Chrome run. That holds for every tier from /150 down to the one of ones, and on the Chrome sets as well as the base set, so it is not a miscount of cards. The sheet does not say where the other 7 percent or so ends up.

Silver Portrait is the only full-size base parallel that is Hobby only, at 1:5 packs, roughly 2,000 copies of each card.

Chrome Variations and Chrome minis

100 base subjects get a Chrome Variation. It is mostly a Hobby card: 1:13 Hobby packs against 1:324 in Fat Packs and 1:320 in Value boxes, so about 94 percent of the roughly 2,500 copies per card are in Hobby boxes. The Refractor (1:24) and X-Fractor (1:288) are Hobby only. That works out to about 1,260 Refractors and about 105 X-Fractors of each card.

The Chrome minis carry Gold /50, Orange /25, Red /5 and SuperFractor one of one at the same odds as the full-size Gold, Orange, Red and SuperFractor tiers. Of the 100 Chrome Variation SuperFractors, 37 are in Hobby, 38 in Value and 17 in Fat Packs.

No Number minis carry no serial number, but their odds match the Gold Foil Filagree /50 in all three formats, so each one exists in about 50 copies. Gold Border minis are retail only. Wood minis are Hobby only.

The rarer minis and base variations, again as estimates:

  • Metal minis (150 subjects, Hobby only, 1:6,958): about 436 in all, roughly 3 of each card, or one per 387 Hobby boxes.
  • Stained Glass minis (150 subjects): about 23 of each card.
  • Tin Type variations (100 subjects): about 9 of each card, or one per 453 Hobby boxes.
  • Daguerreotype variations (100 subjects, one of one redemptions): 96 of the 100 are on the sheet, 40 of them in Hobby.

Uniform Countdown is the tough one: ten cards, UC-31 Greg Maddux through UC-40 Bartolo Colon. The card numbers match each player's jersey number, and the odds fit print runs numbered to those jerseys (31 through 40), though Topps has not published them. They are Hobby only, at about one per 490 boxes.

The hits

Every Hobby box has two hits. On average that is about three autographs every four boxes, or about 9 per case, plus about one relic per box. A Rip Card shows up about once every 4.5 boxes and a Double Rip about once every 67.

About 158,000 autographs are spread across all three formats, and 80 percent of them are in Hobby boxes. Most are mini autographs: about 147,000 of the 158,000. A Value box has about a 1 in 25 shot at an autograph. A single Fat Pack has about a 1 in 74 shot.

The marquee cards:

  • Cut Signatures: 51 one of ones, including Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Mickey Mantle, Jackie Robinson, Abraham Lincoln and John Wayne, about 1 in 89,000 Hobby packs, or one per 5,000 Hobby boxes.
  • Relic Cut Signatures: 11 one of ones, including Hank Aaron, Willie Mays, Stan Musial and Yogi Berra. Eight of the 11 are in Hobby boxes.
  • Dynasty Autographed Patch: nine cards, three each for Miley Cyrus, Tony Hawk and Seth Meyers, in /10, Silver /5 and Gold one of one versions. Six of the nine Gold one of ones are in Hobby boxes and two are in Value boxes.
  • Band autographs: Linkin Park and The Maine, Hobby only. The odds put 50 regular band autographs and 20 Red Ink versions in Hobby packs, which is 25 and 10 of each card if they are split evenly.
  • Full-size autographs: Barry Bonds, Kirk Gibson and Reggie Jackson, about 420 regular copies across the three, plus Red Ink versions numbered to 10.

The base card

Take out every insert, parallel and hit, and what is left is base cards: about 45 million of them, or roughly 150,000 copies of each of the 300 base cards. That is an estimate, since it assumes every slot not on the sheet is a base card, but it puts the ladder in proportion. For every Gold Foil Filagree /50 of a player there are about 3,000 base cards, and for every Purple Foil Filagree one of one there are about 150,000.

The pack count only went up 8 percent, but because each box is a quarter smaller, there are 44 percent more standard Hobby boxes, and with two hits in every box, 44 percent more guaranteed hits from them. One caveat: 2025 also had a Mitchell & Ness hobby box that is not part of 2026. Counting those, the number of hobby boxes is up by roughly a quarter to a third rather than 44 percent. The trade-off is the rainbow. Put the smaller box and the worse odds together and a 2026 Hobby box has about 36 percent, a little over a third, of the chance a 2025 box had at any given Gold, Orange, Black, Red or Purple Foil Filagree card (Blue and Green are new this year).

What we cannot pin down yet

A few lines on the sheet do not add up cleanly, and we have left them out of the tables:

  • Double Rip Cards: the odds put only about 2,500 in Hobby packs, about 25 per card across 100 cards. Topps has not published a print run.
  • Mini autograph counts per card. The frame parallels on the mini autographs add up to more copies than one version of each card allows, which points to more than one version per subject. We have kept those to set totals.
  • Career 250 (50 cards) is on the checklist but has no line on the odds sheet.
  • The missing 7 percent of every numbered base, mini and Chrome run. It may be held back, packed somewhere else, or tied to subjects that did not make the set. The sheet does not say.

What to watch

The release is October 7. We will be watching for the first serial-numbered pulls to confirm the ladder, any revised odds sheet, and where that last 7 percent of the numbered base, mini and Chrome runs turns up.

The full checklist and every parallel with its print run and odds are on the 2026 Topps Allen & Ginter Baseball release page, and you can track what you pull in HobbyMonitor Collections.
