2025-26 Topps Pristine Basketball: The Complete Odds, Parallel, and Print Run Breakdown

2025-26 Topps Pristine Basketball: The Complete Odds, Parallel, and Print Run Breakdown

2025-26 Topps Pristine Basketball released September 24, and Topps posted the odds sheet the same day. It runs 122 lines across three columns: Hobby, FDI and Instant Wax. Like most Topps sheets it lists odds and no print runs. It still holds enough to check every numbered parallel, find the handful of tiers that don't add up, estimate the cards that carry no serial number, and work out roughly how many boxes of each format were made.

The checklist

The base set is 150 cards, and Topps' checklist splits it in two. Base Cards I runs from Trae Young at #1 to Steve Nash at #100 and closes with ten retired greats: Shaquille O'Neal, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Bill Russell, Wilt Chamberlain, Hakeem Olajuwon, Kevin Garnett, Allen Iverson and Nash. Base Cards II opens with ten more retired names, Dirk Nowitzki through Vince Carter, then 40 rookies from Cooper Flagg at #111 to Carter Bryant at #150. Counting every insert, autograph and relic, the checklist runs 717 cards across 20 sections.

The inserts:

  • Precisionaries, 30 cards of players Topps calls renowned for skill and precision, from sharpshooters like Larry Bird, Dirk Nowitzki, Steve Nash, John Stockton and Stephen Curry to Shaquille O'Neal and Yao Ming, plus seven rookies.
  • Mixtape, 35 cards, 15 of them rookies.
  • Impact Frame and Monogram, 25 cards each.
  • Stacked and Clean Court, 20 cards each.
  • Fresh Out of the Box, 15 cards, all rookies.
  • Grandmaster, 15 cards.
  • Forever, 10 cards: LeBron James, Luka Dončić, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Nikola Jokić, Anthony Edwards, Jayson Tatum, Victor Wembanyama, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Ja Morant.

Mixtape, Monogram, Clean Court and Grandmaster are the tough four, at 1:68 to 1:158 Hobby packs.

The autographs:

  • Pristine Autographs, 58 current players and retired stars, from LeBron James, Stephen Curry and Victor Wembanyama to Larry Bird, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Oscar Robertson.
  • Pristine Rookie Autographs, 40 rookies.
  • Italics, 50 cards, 20 of them rookies.
  • Mark of the Moment, 49 cards, with 15 rookies and retired names like Clyde Drexler, Dominique Wilkins, George Gervin and Gary Payton.
  • Pristine Personal Endorsements, 39 cards with player-written inscriptions, 20 of them rookies.
  • Pristine Pair Dual Autographs, 9 cards: Cade Cunningham and Jalen Brunson, Cooper Flagg and Jayson Tatum, Ace Bailey and Kevin Durant, Brandon Miller and Kon Knueppel, Anthony Edwards and Stephen Curry, Dylan Harper and Stephon Castle, Paolo Banchero and Trae Young, Tyrese Haliburton and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and Yang Hansen and Yao Ming.

The autograph relics:

  • Pristine Pieces Autograph Relics, 54 cards.
  • Pristine Pieces Rookie Autograph Relics, 35 rookies. Topps' product page calls them rookie patch autographs that are only found encased.
  • Popular Demand Autograph Relics, 38 cards, including Tracy McGrady, Jason Kidd, Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker.

The formats

  • Hobby: six packs of seven cards plus three encased cards, with two autographs and one autograph relic per box. Topps sold the Hobby box at $799.99 and a six-box case at $4,679.99.
  • FDI: its own column on the sheet, with two base parallels and one relic parallel found nowhere else. Topps hasn't posted the FDI box configuration on its product page.
  • Instant Packs: four cards each, ripped on demand online. Topps describes each one as a refractor plus one numbered parallel, exclusive parallel, autograph, autograph relic or super short print. The odds agree, adding up to about one of those per pack. An autograph falls about 1 in 4 Instant packs and an autograph relic about 1 in 12.

Reading the Hobby column takes one step. The base, parallel and insert lines are per pack, six packs to a box. The autograph and autograph relic lines add up to one hit per encased card, so those odds count encased cards, three to a box. Read that way, the odds give a Hobby box 2.05 autographs and 1.00 autograph relic, which is Topps' two and one. The rest of the box, by the odds: six base Refractors, three Paint the Arc parallels, about three numbered base parallels, about five inserts, about one numbered insert parallel, and one of the tough four in about every fourth box. FDI's autograph lines add up the same way, about two for every three encased cards.

About two-thirds of the autographs and three-quarters of the relics in a Hobby box come as one of the numbered parallels rather than the base version.

Topps' sheet doesn't print serial numbers, but the odds back up the print runs. Multiply a tier's print run by 150 cards and by its Hobby odds, and every tier from the Gold /50 to the SuperFractor lands between 217,500 and 220,950. A wrong print run would stick out by its own percentage. The common tiers at the top, Aqua through Blue, wobble a few points either way because odds like 1:7 and 1:10 are rounded.

FDI's base odds sit within a few percent of Hobby's and run better at the top: its Red is 1:284 packs and its SuperFractor 1:1,135, against Hobby's 1:293 and 1:1,473. Counting the format exclusives, each base card has 840 numbered parallels: 754 in the shared ladder, 68 Teal and Black in Instant, and 18 Fourth Quarter and In the Paint in FDI.

The same check works here. On all five ladders, the Green through the Orange come out between 210,870 and 214,250 (odds times print run times cards), so the runs hold up. In Instant, the five regular inserts and their parallels run a little more than twice as long as Hobby. The tough four are the one place Instant beats Hobby per pack: Mixtape 1:60, Monogram 1:84, Clean Court 1:105 and Grandmaster 1:140.

FDI's autograph odds match Hobby's or run a few percent longer, about 3 percent on the rarer lines. FDI gets none of the regular relic lines; its only relics are the Molten Mercury /11 parallels, and at 1:4 and 1:6 encased cards they come out to about one for every 2.4 FDI encased cards. In Instant, the autograph lines run about 2.7 times longer per pack than Hobby's do per encased card, and the relic lines about 4 times longer.

How many boxes the sheet covers

Topps doesn't publish a print run, but the sheet has enough to work one out. Start with the two small formats, since each has parallels nobody else gets.

Instant: the Instant-only Black /11 is 1,650 cards across the 150 base cards. At 1:23 Instant packs, that's about 38,000 packs. The Teal /57 says about 34,000, but 1:4 is a heavily rounded number. Call it 34,000 to 38,000 Instant packs.

FDI: the In the Paint /6 is 900 cards at 1:5 FDI packs, about 4,500 packs. The Fourth Quarter /12 says about 5,400, again from a rounded 1:3. The Molten Mercury relics count encased cards instead: 594 cards at 1:4 is about 2,400 encased cards, and 385 at 1:6 is about 2,300. That's two packs for every encased card, the same as Hobby's six and three, and it puts FDI at roughly 750 to 825 boxes if FDI boxes are built like Hobby.

Hobby: the autograph one-of-ones set the ceiling. Multiply the odds by the number of cards, and the Black and SuperFractor lines on four autograph sets come out to the same Hobby figure: 1:11,888 times the 9 Pristine Pair cards is 106,992, 1:2,140 times 50 Italics is 107,000, and Mark of the Moment and Personal Endorsements land within 30 of that. Take out the shares that go to Instant (about 12 percent) and FDI (about 2 percent), and Hobby holds about 91,500 encased cards. At three per box, that's about 30,500 Hobby boxes. Any more and the sheet would be putting more one-of-one autographs in packs than exist. The three relic Black lines land on the same answer.

FormatPacksBoxesCases
Hobbyup to about 183,000 packs plus 91,500 encased cardsup to about 30,500up to about 5,100
FDIabout 4,700 packs plus 2,400 encased cardsroughly 800-
Instantabout 36,000--

That ceiling moves between about 30,300 and 30,800 boxes depending on where Instant really sits, and the real count is lower only if Topps kept some one-of-one autographs out of packs. At the ceiling, that's about 1.37 million Hobby cards. Hobby gets about 85 percent of the autographs and about 88 percent of the relics, Instant about 12 percent of the autographs and 9 percent of the relics, and FDI about 2 percent of the autographs and 3 percent of the relics (all Molten Mercury).

The parallels fit. At these counts, the numbered base and insert parallels that run in all three formats come out to about 96 percent of their print runs in packs, tier after tier. The common tiers with small, rounded odds wobble a few points either way, the insert SuperFractors are the exception covered below, and the format exclusives land within their own rounding.

Not every numbered card is in a pack

Because the Hobby count is set by the Pristine Pair, Italics, Mark of the Moment and Personal Endorsements one-of-ones, those come out complete by design. Against that count, the rest of the sheet lands a little short of the print runs:

TierPrintedIn packs, by the odds
Base Red Refractor /5 (150 cards)750about 721
Base SuperFractor (150 cards)150about 144
Forever Gold /50500about 480

Impact Frame or Monogram SuperFractor25about 22
Stacked SuperFractor20about 17
Fresh Out of the Box or Grandmaster SuperFractor15about 12
Forever SuperFractor10about 7

The insert SuperFractors show the clearest pattern: on every insert, the odds put about three fewer SuperFractors in packs than there are cards in the set (four on Precisionaries and Mixtape). The base SuperFractor runs with the rest of the base ladder.

The sheet doesn't say why. Topps' note on it says a subject being in a set doesn't guarantee it appears in every parallel, so some players may skip a tier, or a few copies of each tier stay out of packs. Either way, the odds put about seven Forever SuperFractors in packs, not ten.

Where the ladder doesn't add up

Three ladders don't fit their print runs on every card:

  • Pristine Autographs Aqua /199, Green /150 and Purple /99. Aqua at /199 would be 11,542 cards across 58 players. The odds put about 6,300 in packs, enough for about 32 players. Green comes out enough for about 34 and Purple about 49. From the Blue /75 down, the ladder fits all 58.
  • Pristine Rookie Autographs Aqua /199 and Green /150. Each comes out enough for about 34 of the 40 rookies. Purple and below fit.
  • Pristine Pieces Autograph Relics Purple /99, Blue /75 and Gold /50. The odds cover about 24 players at /99, 37 at /75 and 41 at /50, out of 54. The Purple also falls 1:42 against the Blue's 1:36, so on the sheet the Purple is the tougher pull even though it's the bigger run. From the Orange /25 down, all 54 fit.

The likeliest reading is that not every player has those tiers, which Topps' note allows for. The print runs may be right for the players who have them; the odds just don't cover the whole set. The Popular Demand ladder fits every player, and the Pristine Pieces Rookie ladder comes close, with its Blue /75 about 9 percent light.

The unnumbered chases

The same pack counts estimate the cards with no serial number on the sheet: packs divided by odds, added across the formats, divided by the cards in the set.

Base Refractor150about 1,490
Forever, Stacked, Impact Frame, Fresh Out of the Box, Precisionaries10 to 30about 1,630 to 1,700

The base versions of Mark of the Moment, Italics and the Pristine Pair cards come out near 25 copies each, and Personal Endorsements near 50. The sheet lists no print run for any of them, so whether they carry a serial number is still open. The tough four inserts sit at about 96 copies each, about as scarce as a Purple /99.

Each of the 150 base cards comes out to roughly 5,100 copies, about 4,800 of them from Hobby, if every Hobby pack is filled out to seven cards with base. Topps doesn't say whether Base Cards I and II are printed the same, so that figure is rough. The most common lines here (the Refractor, Paint the Arc and the regular inserts) rest on small odds that Topps rounds, so they're looser than the rest.

The rarest pulls

The toughest line on the sheet is the Forever SuperFractor at 1:29,245 Hobby packs, about one in every 4,900 Hobby boxes. The odds put about six of the ten in Hobby. Next come the Grandmaster SuperFractor at 1:19,019 packs (about 1 in 3,200 boxes) and the Fresh Out of the Box SuperFractor at 1:17,060 (about 1 in 2,800).

Among the hits, the Pristine Pair Black is the toughest at 1:11,888 encased cards, about one in every 4,000 Hobby boxes, with about eight of the nine in Hobby. Any Pristine Pair autograph, counting the Red and Black, falls about 1 in 130 boxes. A one-of-one autograph or relic of any kind falls about once every 95 Hobby boxes, or one every 16 cases. The base SuperFractor is about 1 in 245 Hobby boxes.

What to watch

Pristine Basketball released September 24. The things we're watching: the first base-version Mark of the Moment, Italics, Pristine Pair and Personal Endorsements cards to see whether they carry a serial number, which players turn up in Aqua and Green on Pristine Autographs and in Purple on Pristine Pieces, and an FDI box configuration from Topps. We'll update this piece if any of that changes.

The full checklist and every parallel with its print run and odds are on the 2025-26 Topps Pristine Basketball release page, and you can track what you pull in HobbyMonitor Collections.
